We value our relationship with the preschools and elementary schools! Having researchers work with students is a great, enriching opprotunity for kids to get involved with science at a young age.
How school visits work: We send parent permission forms to the school providing information about the research studies. Parents make an informed decision about whether they want their child to participate and those who were interested could return the signed forms. We only run studies with children whose parents signed the permission forms. If, on the day of our visit, any children did not want participate or to end the study midway through we always respect that decision. Our visits typically last only 1-2 days as to not disrupt the daily cirriculum of the school. After our visit, we send newsletters to the school with updates about the studies we ran there.
